Cry Sanctuary

Keith Winston has come home to Montana to find peace. Instead, the veteran warrior finds himself fighting pressure to become the alpha's right hand. His attraction to a new wolf on the run sucks him into yet another battle between his instincts and his heart.

Abigail Adler knew nothing about werewolves--until she became one. Red Rock is her only refuge, but she chafes under its rigid rules. Except when it comes to submitting to the passion Keith stirs in her body. With her sister in danger, though, they will both have to risk breaking all the rules.

Sanctuary Lost

Brynn Adler hates feeling helpless and vulnerable. But that's right where she is...in a world of werewolves. Worse, her sister Abigail is one of them. The pack wants to send her packing, yet she's unwilling to leave--her sister, or the one man who makes her forget her life is falling apart.

Joe Mitchell knew getting involved with Brynn was a bad idea. A supernatural war is no place for a human, and he's not about to let her make a decision that will bring pain and regret. Now all he has to do is let her go.

I have been meaning to read this series since I love her Southern Arcana series. So I was looking forward to reading this one and was tickled pink when I won this print from Moira Rogers during one of her chats at Samhain's yahoo group. This book was a great read. It has great characters and a story that keeps you engrossed. My only problem with the stories was that is was too short and therefor the character development wasn't as detailed as I liked. The story of the primary characters wasn't as clear as I wanted. Like in the first one I would have been interested in how and why Abby was turned and how she reacted afterwards. And there were certain secondary characters that I wanted to know more about their back history. Some of these issues were resolved in the second story. Since some of those said secondary characters are getting their own story I hope to have the answers to all my questions in those later books.

If you love sexy shifters with a pinch of witches and some downright stuborn humans and former humans you'll love this book. I highly recommend it and give it 4 stars.

Spider's Bite by Jennifer Estep

Synopsis
My name is Gin, and I kill people.
They call me the Spider. I'm the most feared assassin in the South — when I'm not busy at the Pork Pit cooking up the best barbecue in Ashland. As a Stone elemental, I can hear everything from the whispers of the gravel beneath my feet to the vibrations of the soaring Appalachian Mountains above me. My Ice magic also comes in handy for making the occasional knife. But I don't use my powers on the job unless I absolutely have to. Call it professional pride.

Now that a ruthless Air elemental has double-crossed me and killed my handler, I'm out for revenge. And I'll exterminate anyone who gets in my way — good or bad. I may look hot, but I'm still one of the bad guys. Which is why I'm in trouble, since irresistibly rugged Detective Donovan Caine has agreed to help me. The last thing this cold hearted killer needs when I'm battling a magic more powerful than my own is a sexy distraction...especially when Donovan wants me dead just as much as the enemy.

I was fortunate enough to win this one on one of Ms. Estep's blog giveaways. I hadn't read anything by her before and I am glad I remedied that. This book rocked. I loved that even though bad shit happened to Gin that she wasn't so jaded that she killed whomever came down the pike. She had standards and would even do jobs pro bono just because certain folks needed killing like Detective Caine's partner. I didn't think Gin was as badass as she portrays herself. Yes she's a survivor but then again she's had to be. And Detective Caine is a good guy but dang sometimes you have to have shades of gray. I hope in subsequent books that he loosens the hell up for something other than a quick wham bam thank ya ma'am.

This book is fantastic and rocks from start to finish. It is an action pack adreanal rush inducing read from first page to last. And it leaves you wanting more more more.
I give this one a 5 stars.

I am on Team Werewolf Bootlegger

I’m on Team Werewolf. Find out more.

First of all I love both weres and vamps but the weres just have a few perks that in my mind the vamps just cannot overcome. One is food. I mean dayumn I'd love to live forever but not being able to have food especially Bryer's Reece Cup Ice Cream. Well that would be a crying shame. And I love the beach way too much to give up the sun. And yeah I know you can go out in the ocean at night too. But there are way too many things that can eat you in the ocean for me not to want to see what is coming at me. And yeah I know vamps are immortal but I figure that if you're chewed up and swallowed then you can die just the same. And another big reason is that this one is a bootlegger and that means the booze is free. yeehaw.

Beast Behaving Badly by Shelly Laurenston

Blurb from Publisher
Ten years after Blayne Thorpe first encountered Bo Novikov, she still can't get the smooth-talking shifter out of her head. Now he's shadowing her in New York-all seven-plus feet of him-determined to protect her from stalkers who want to use her in shifter dogfights. Even if he has to drag her off to an isolated Maine town where the only neighbors are other bears almost as crazy as he is...

Let sleeping dogs lie. Bo knows it's good advice, but he can't leave Blayne be. Blame it on her sweet sexiness -- or his hunch that there's more to this little wolfdog than meets the eye. Blayne has depths he hasn't yet begun to fathom -- much as he'd like to. She may insist Bo's nothing but a pain in her delectable behind, but polar bears have patience in spades. Soon she'll realize how good they can be together. And when she does, animal instinct tells him it'll be worth the wait...

Ms. Larenston has done it again. This is one truly funny yet sexy book. At first blush Blyane doesn't meet the normal requirements from Ms. Laurenston hell on heels heroines. She sweet, nice, and easy going until you piss her off. And she has a special skill set that surprises everyone.

Bo now he only know one thing and that what his is his. His puck, His wolfdog just his all his. And he's not used to being denied but deny him Blayne does. This book is another laugh out loud funny book. What with Blayne and Bo dealing with shifternappers after Half breed shifters, Dee, Blayne friends and family, and Bo the "bear" town bo grew up in it's a wonder they get together at all. But mate they do and I for one and salivating at the next one which I hope. I hope it's Dee Smth which is another crazy ass smith wolf we've met in previous books. Shelly Laurenston is an autobuy on release day for me. Just wished she wrote faster.

I Purchased this one all by my lonesome and I give this one 4 1/2 stars.
