Quick Reviews - Takhini Wolf Series by Vivian Arend

Black Gold Takhini Wolves, Book 1

Black Gold (Takhini Wolves, #1)Lone wolf Shaun Stevens s automatic response to the words happily ever after ? "Kill me now." Yet with all his friends settling down he s begun to think there may actually be something to this love-and-roses crap.

One thing s for sure: his dream mate will have to out-cuss, out-spit and out-hike him. So he never expected the one to push his forever button would be a blue-blooded Southern debutante with a voice as dark and velvety as her skin.

When Gemmita Jacobs steps off the plane in Whitehorse, Yukon, it s about more than her caribou research project. It s her declaration of independence from an overprotected upbringing. Except there s something in the air she can t quite define something that unexpectedly rouses her mating instincts.

Moments after their eyes lock, the deed is done and done thoroughly. When the pheromone dust settles, though, all the reasons they don t belong together become painfully clear.

It s enough to make a wolf learn a whole new set of cuss words

Warning: Two strong wolves getting exactly what they deserve. Includes wilderness nookie, shifters being naughty in public places, the Midnight Sun as a canopy for seduction and grizzly shifters on the loose. Oh, and don t forget the sarcasm.

Gen and Shaun were great together. Different but they worked and I loved watching Shaun getting his HEA. I laughed and thoroughly enjoyed this book so much so that I went and got the rest and read them back to back.

I give this book 4 stars and I bought it with my own hard earned money lol.

Silver Mine Takhini Wolves, Book 2

Silver Mine (Takhini Wolves, #2)
Life in isolation is the safest place for Chase Johnson, a crossbreed who doesn't know which form he'll assume next-cougar or wolf. Once a year, his unelected position as spokesman for the Yukon outcasts forces him to visit civilization. This time he runs across someone unexpected. She's not his mate, but she pushes all the right buttons.

It's taken years for Shelley Bradley to gather the courage to return to her home pack. In spite of being the lowest of the low-a shifter who can't shift-she's determined to make a place for herself as the Whitehorse locals' new vet-slash-doctor.

There's definite electricity between her and Chase, but sex with fellow shifters and the inherent mind games got old a long time ago. Ignoring him seems best. When he shows up at her office with a wound that won't heal, she's stuck-yet drawn to solve this medical mystery.

As they journey deep into outcast territory in search of answers, their powerful sexual attraction crumbles her resistance. But time is of the essence. If a cure can't be found before his human and cougar succumb to his injury, he-and others like him-will die.

Warning: Contains a silver-tongued, hairy-chested, lean-muscled Alpha who's got what it takes to lead in the wilderness and in the bedroom. Yeah, I know...not really much of a deterrent, is it? Throw in continuing territorial wars and a domestic cat. Stir and enjoy the chaos.

This book was my second favorite of the Takhini series. I loved Shelley. Even though she was considered different from other wolves since she cannot shift and was given grief for it I like that she takes control and don't let the other wolves bully her anymore. and She's Caroline's sister my favorite badass human of this series. And Chase what can I say but Yum. He's a wolf/cougar shifter and he's a little different too. So they work well together in bed and out. And they are not mates but it shows you don't have to have to be to be totally together.

I give this book 5 stars and I bought this one with my own money too.

  Diamond Dust  Takhini Wolves 3

Diamond Dust (Takhini Wolves, #3)She can’t shift, but she can shake their world.

Caroline Bradley is having one hell of a week. Her wolf lover has sniffed out his mate, making her an instant free agent. Not only that, Takhini territory has been overrun with aggressive bear-shifters electing a clan leader, and the wolf pack is feeling the effects—pushing her diplomatic skills to the limit.

Tyler Harrison is a grizzly on a mission. If he’s going to win the majority of the bears’ votes, he needs one final thing: a female companion. The only woman in town with influence over wolves, humans, and more bears than he’d like to admit, is Caroline.

Despite the sexual pull between them, though, Tyler’s not seeking a permanent relationship. And Caroline isn’t looking to be anyone else’s political pawn. But she should have remembered that when shifters are involved, changes happen in the blink of an eye.

Warning: Billionaire bear hero plus kick-ass human heroine equals a sexually volatile power struggle. Get ready for what might be the naughtiest game of tag that’s ever been played in the great outdoors.

Carolyn is one of my most favorite heroines that I've read recently. For starters she is human and is the alpha female of a werewolf pack. I liked everything about her. She's snarky, smart, and she bags herself a grizzly. And Tyler is just a big ole teddy bear for her anyway. Anyone else and he's a typical grizzly. I loved this story. Definitely my favorite in this series.

I give this one 5 stars and again this is another one I bought with my own money.

MoonShine Takhini Wolves, Book 4

Meet Evan Stone. Laid-back, in-control Alpha of the Takhini Wolves. Life’s not perfect, but he’s got a good handle on his world. At least, he did—until the night he ends up in jail, soaking wet and wondering what the hell just happened.

The “what” is Amy Ryba, a vengeful female who’s decided it’s long past time to make Evan pay for his sins. Amy has spent years tracking him down, and the last nine months working in secret to destroy him. She’s ready for anything—except discovering the shifter she hates is her mate.

Suddenly, Evan’s not so very in control, of himself or his pack. And unless Amy can learn to forgive and forget, she’ll have to do the unthinkable: reject her mate.

With two packs watching, one thing is certain. Their personal issues won’t stay personal for long. If Amy and Evan can’t find a way to work together, there won’t be a happily-ever-after for them…or any of the wolves of Whitehorse.

Warning: Contains angsty wolves. Lots of angsty wolves causing explosions of all sorts, playing bad pranks, hacking computers, and having angry sex against a wall or two. Not all at the same time, though, because that would be silly

This was a fantastic story but kind of hard too. Evan and Amy had a of lot issues to work through not the least of which was joining their respective packs and working out who was going to do what. And in midst of all this there is an attempted coup in his pack. But in the end it all worked out to everyone satisfaction.
I give this one four stars and I bought this one with my own money too.
